Welcome to O'Block is the first studio album of Chicago rapper King Von. It was released October 30th 2020, just one week before the tragic passing of King Von. The album features guest appearances from various notable rappers including King Von's mentor and childhood friend Lil Durk, Prince Dre another artist from O'block, New York drill artist Fivio Foreign, Moneybagg Yo of Memphis and fellow Chicago artists Polo G and Dreezy.
Several songs from the album were released prior to the albums release, including Why He Told on July 24 2020, All These Niggas featuring Lil Durk on August 5 2020, How it Go on August 28th 2020, I Am What I Am featuring Fivio Foreign on October 9th 2020 and Gleesh Place on October 23rd 2020.
The Album sold roughly 25,000 copies in its first week, this quickly grew to 44,000 in it's second week after King Von's passing, reaching the top 5 in the billboard album charts.
The album is named after the Parkway Gardens housing complex in Chicago's southside, the childhood home of King Von. Parkway Gardens is considered to be one of the most dangerous blocks in all of America.
The complex was is controlled by the Black Disciples criminal street gang and was renamed to O'block by members of the gang in honor of Odee Perry, a fallen member. O'Block has been immortalized by constant references in the music of Chief Keef and King Von .
After King Von's death, a statement was released by his team stating that they would continue the roll out of Welcome to O'block meaning a deluxe version of the album could be coming soon.
