You can definitely hear how much this album inspired players like Joey Jordison in songs like Divine!

Instant goosebumps listening to this after how many years? I remember in '99 listening to this after my first introduction to Korn was their album Issues.. I was mindblown by the raw energy this one had.

bro this is one of the most raw and genuine nu metal albums i’ve ever heard, only ever topped by chocolate starfish and the hotdog flavored water

Many bands tried to sound just like this album but none of them could capture how fucking original this is to this very day

(this isn't a smack at nu metal as a whole, I love that style, but there were clearly some bands that just tried copying this album without adding anything to it)

Their best, and one of the most important albums of their time! There's no question about it! People have some of kind of urge to shit on them because they're "fake metal" or some other bs. Couldn't care less, it's great music, and highly influential to what would come afterwards.

I'd be interested which good bands or albums were influence by this. Not hating, just curious. Oh and not that I think it would be necessary to influence anything else... a good album can very well stand on its own in my opinion.

Yeah as i said, i don't think anything sounds quite the same as this, but they were a huge influence to bands like Slipknot etc. I probably wasn't clear enough with that :D

Sepultura- Roots for the production and low end, Slipknot- self titled because they kind of took a bit of what Korn was doing with the nu metal sound and added a bit of speed and more technical drumming. and finally Chat Pile- God's Country for a more modern album influenced more by the noise metal elements of Korns earlier guitar riffs. There's a few that spring to mind immediately

It has to be up there with the greatest debut albums of all times. Korn never touched this one, they came close with Issues and Untouchables but never did anything this solid and probably never will.

This is their darkest record. it is so beautiful though and raw and heavy. I remember hearing this when I was young teen ❤️

I consider myself to be a metalhead elitist, only the very best I will subject to myself to, yet I still listen to this after over a decade.
