Biography
The band officially formed in the spring of 2010, after Krisztián Lovrek - with the help of best friend Zoltán Zalán Kárpáti – recorded the home demo of three of his songs. But the story dates back much earlier than that.
In the late 90′s, Krisztian – inspired by Metallica – grabbed guitar. At the time His favourite local band from the town of „Komló” was “Hearty Laugh” (1990-1998), whose founding guitarist / songwriter was Zoltán Zalán Kárpáti. The regionally known and recognized band moved to the capital Budapest at the peak of their success – where, unfortunately, disappeared after a short time – thus the “big meeting” of the two was still far in coming.
Krisztián, aged 19 establishes the band “Illusion” (2002-2003) in Komló – where he debuts as singer / solo guitarist. This is when He starts writing the songs/lyrics which are later used in the “LOVRECK” demo material. One year after the formation of “Illusion”, the band breaks up. Krisztián tries to find new musical peers, with little success. He then moves to Pécs, but due to the lack of appropriate musical partners, focuses on the development of his guitar playing skills. The drummer of “Illusion” at the time is invited to Budapest, to play in the band with Zoli, and so the two become acquainted. It is also at this time, that Krisztián starts to conquer YouTube, which proves to be an important tool for his recognition and visibility with more that 1.6 million viewers.
To the encouragement of legendary guitarist Zsolt Daczi, Krisztián moves to Budapest in 2006. In 2009, rather than continuing to play in other people’s bands, He decides to concentrate on the success of his own band He started at 19 – “Illusion”. He is soon joined by Zoltán Zalán Kárpáti , followed by Gábor Horváth (Sexy) a guitarist who obtained a reputation and recognition in the band “My Small Community”,
The band’ is initially named “Illusion” the name soon to be vetoed by band mates. Instead, the name “LOVRECK” is proposed, whose meaning in English is very pertinent in the light of the band’s song lyrics.
By Autumn of 2010, ZZ and Krisztián started recording the debut album of LOVRECK, entitled “Lélek-Gyilkos“, which launched – care of Nail Records- as a special insert in HammerWorld Magazine on December 8, 2011.
At the start of 2011, the entire rhythm section is replaced – with the departures of Marci (to Pokolgép), and Sexy, who chose to concentrate more on his own projects. With the new arrivals, Zoltán Károlyi (drums) and István Farkas (bass), a great human and professional community is formed, where the musical roots and goals are absolutely identical!
In the summer of 2011, the band shoots its first official music video of the track „Ugye érzed?” with Rock TV, which is already on air on Rock TV and YouTube.
In 2011 LOVRECK is in full swing with the launching of its music video and album, and Krisztián’s victory of the ‘ Marshall Face Guitar Competition‘ – thanks to which he will be the face of the music giant – celebrating its 50th birthday – for 2012.
This attracts the full attention of the online and printed media resulting in numerous appearances in the most prestigious issues of the magazines Metal HammerWorld Magazine, Soundquest Magazine, RockinforM Magazin, and Musician – Guitar Magazine.
The group’s aim is to gain the highest recognition among its audience and within the professional circles through hard work, with its intellectual metal music and Hungarian lyrics and filling the decade long gap left by Tankcsapda in the local music scene.
