Biography of Lake of Flames

Lake of Flames is an alternative gothic metal band from Stara Zagora/Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. It was found by Plam Chelavrova (vocals, lyrics) and Dido Georgiev (guitars, composing) in 2006.
The philosophy behind the band’s work is primarily aimed at the depths of the human soul, individuality and experiences that have been lived through internally and built the lyrical I, who can be any of us. The lyrics portray emotions and feelings such as fear, sadness, melancholy, embitterment, reaching all the way to overcoming them through fight, strength, faith, hope, love, passion, desires ascertaining elements that build the personality. It is a combination that expresses the balance within us and encourages everybody to realize that there is always a bright side, despite he circumstances. This is how the band’s name was chosen - two earthly elements that are against each other in nature - fire and water existing in balance with each other Lake of Flames.

This has been the official lineup since 2009.
It’s important to note that the band has only played their own songs since its creation. Dutch initiative “She’s Got the Metal” started in 2008 with the purpose of collecting all bands that are femalefronted. By 2009, over 378 bands from various countries were added on their official website. The representatives for Bulgaria were Plam Chelavrova of Lake of Flames, Simona of
Let Them Die and Maria of Rampfart.
Lake of Flames has got a lot of support along the line by several radio programs dedicated to metal, such as “The Other Side” on Varna radio, “Dead Zone” on Menes radio, Silistra, and “The Black Sheep” on Stara Zagora radio.
The first appearance of Lake of Flames was at the PopRock Festival in Nesebar, August 2009 where they performed the songs “New Life”, “The Missing Part” and “With your breath.” The next performance was two months later after they were invited to be a supporting band at Jan Club, Stara Zagora (Bulgaria) by the wellknown Bulgarian metal band Fyeld (https://www.facebook.com/Fyeld).
In the beginning of 2010, the first EP “From The Inside” was released, including four tracks “With
Your Breath”, “New Life”, “From The Inside” and the ballad “Like In A Dream.”
In 2011 Lake of Flames were invited to play at a concert of Stara Zagora radio by “The Black Sheep” program? the band was on the top rank of their musical chart several times as it had been chosen by listeners’ vote.
L.O.F. draw inspiration from famous bands such as Lacuna Coil, Type O Negative, Evanescence, Red, End Of You, Kamelot and many others.
Currently they are finishing up the recording of their longawaited fulllength album “From Inside”,
which is going to contain tracks from their EP “From The Inside”, being spiced up with old and
new ideas.
In 2014 the musicians were invited to participate in the metal compilation “Ladies First” Vol. 2 by
the german label Metal Del Mundo, which aims at gathering bands with female vocalists from
around the globe. Lake of Flames were chosen to represent Bulgaria. The range of musical genres in the compilation vary from symphonic to gothic black metal. The band will present Bulgaria with the song “Path”.
After finishing the album, the band is going to spread their music thanks to the support of the label Metal Del Mundo.
