What I like the most about this album, besides the obvious quality, is the fact that this is the follow-up to her incredibly successful major debut and instead of going full mainstream pop in order to milk the cow as strong as possible they decided to make an album that's somewhere between psychedelic rock and dream pop. Respect for this bold move which luckily paid off!

Tracks 2 to 5, next to each other, it's like in some Greatest Hits or The Best Of compilation, while it's just a regular album. With other solid pop catchy songs like 1, 8 or 9 and a specific sad-psychedelic-filtered sound, this easy can be the best Lana's album. The only problem is that some of the other albums are even better, especially more uniform.

My forbidden dream is to wake up in the morning and be 14 again listening to Ultraviolence while I talk with my internet friends smoking in a random alley to not be seen by adults wearing black high-knee socks and jeans shorts romanticizing drugs and being young and alone.

I can’t relate to any of this but I wish I was 14 again too, things were so much better and easier back then in just about every way
