Khalil Jewell (Born in 2004), professionally known as Lelo or Lelo The Corpse, is a rapper from Detroit, Michigan.

He would start music in early 2019 at the age of 15, with friends and frequent collaborators such as, Apolloscase and PayDayJay.

Lelo has attributed some of the inspirations in his music to artists such as LUCKI and Earl Sweatshirt, which can be heard in his reminiscent yet unique style. He would release his first full body of work in “For me.” on SoundCloud, January 24, 2020.

Starting at the end of 2021, Lelo began posting snippets of his old and upcoming songs on TikTok. His videos would find consistent three-digit viewership until a video of him rapping the lyrics to his song, DTW, saw nearly a 4000% increase in views. The video, with his white tile backdrop, became a staple in his TikTok posts, seeing exponential growth. In this period, it gained him the attention of a handful of publications such as Lyrical Lemonade.

On August 22, 2022, Lelo would release his song “Stuck Up” to SoundCloud during the leadup to his sixth project, later being his first track to surpass 100K streams on a single platform. It would have a later resurgence, resulting in being his first track to break 1 million plays on a lone platform.

On November 26, 2022, the single “Upset” would release and end up being his first track to surpass 500k streams on a lone platform.
