1) Loretta was a Czech female heavy metal band founded in 1989. They played melodic heavy metal with melodious refrains. They released only one long-play disc called "Loretta" in 1991.

2) Loretta are an Indianapolis-based four piece. Three brothers form the core: Jason, Damon & Jeremy Weidner. Stan Muller joins them on the guitar. Loretta were originally called Jihad but changed their name after 9/11. They released their first album The Translation in 2003 on Benchmark Records. They released their second album Message Received, Not Understood independently on 06/06/08 with a simultaneous record-release/last show at Birdy's in Indianapolis with Red Light Driver and Miranda Sound opening.
