Fuck, this has to be Lou's most underrated record for sure. As far as I'm concerned this was one of, if not, his best band and it's such a shame it was so short lived. Even though there are no heavy rockers like "Waves Of Fear" or "The Blue Mask" on here, the songwriting quality is still there and Lou's vocal delivery is once again very passionate and on point, especially on the title track and "Home of the Brave". I love that hypnotizing riff on "Turn Out The Light" and "The Last Shot" is one of his best songs. Amazing stuff.

I really like this era of Lou. His sobriety had him newly dedicated to making good music and he had one of the best bands of his career playing behind him. The dual guitar attack with Lou and Robert Quine is outstanding, and Fernando Saunders is a terrific bassist.

This album became 10x better on the second listen. Holy crap, yet another masterpiece in Lou Reed's discography.
