LuzAzuL’s music is a mix of “brasil” and flamenco with groovy, organic beats.
Flavoured with a hint of Portuguese fado.
It's a blend of colors; transparent, intimate songs with groove and global sound, changing from sunny to melancholic passion. Acoustic guitar playing, characteristic wurlitzer keys and bass and rhythm grooves together with the brilliant warm voice of Magda Mendes form the heart of LuzAzuL.

Magda Mendes born in Lisbon-Portugal, started singing and performing at a very early age. Played in different groups in Portugal with Brazilian musicians and had music lessons from Zé Eduardo, one of the founders of the Hot Club Jazz music school in Lisbon. After studying at the University of Faro her musical wish brought her to Holland where she's currently studying Latin/Jazz at the Rotterdam’s Conservatorium and also formed her own Brazilian band, Goiabada. She just went to Brazil to smell and taste the real Brazilian live and music.
Martijn Morselt (Dutch) founder of the group, plays the Wurlitzer piano, bass, samples and additional guitars. After he was graduated at the University of Delft as a designer he followed his passion for music at the school of Arts (HKU) where's he's educated in music technology. Before he played in groove and pop orientated bands, like Monc and Blue Dog Yawning. With his background of Acid Jazz, Funk and Soul, he is responsible for the groovy beats, bass and keys. The recordings of the album were made in his studio and he is responsible for most of the arrangements, production and editing of the songs.
Victor Rosinha( Angola-Portugal). The flaming acustic guitar is played by flamenco guitarist Victor Rosinha. He studied in Rotterdam under the guidance of maestro Paco peña and Ricardo Mendeville. He attended also seminaries in Cordoba with Paco Serrano and Manolo Franco and had private lessons with Paco Fernandéz and Juan Requena in Sevilla. With Kika, Udo Demandt and “el Falu”, he runs his Flamenco group, Luna en Alta Mar, but is always working with different projects, combining flamenco with other styles, like with Compassión (jazz/flamenco), with Flamindia (hindu/flamenco) and now with Luzazul. By looking to the roots of his musical spirit Victor Rosinha is on a quest of style experimentation and perfection, combining flamenco, fado, classical, pop, bossa and comtemporary music.
