MIXNINE is a South Korean survival reality show on JTBC. In the show, YG Entertainment founder and producer Yang Hyun-suk travels to music agencies all over Korea to find up-and-coming K-pop stars. The final component of the show will be a competition between a team of nine boys and a team of nine girls, and the winning team will debut as idols.
In the final episode, the boys' team beat the girls' team by a score of 8,114 to 7,866. The boys team was set to debut in April 2018, but the debut was later cancelled due to different opinions on contract lengths.
The top 9 for the boys' team consisted of: Woo Jin Young (우진영), Kim Hyo Jin (김효진), Lee Ru Bin (이루빈), Kim Byeong Kwan (김병관), Choi Hyun Suk (최현석), Song Han Gyeom (송한겸), Kim Min Seok (김민석), Lee Dong Hun (이동훈), and Lee Byoung Gon (이병곤).
The top 9 for the girls' team consisted of: Shin Ryu Jin (신류진), Lee Soo Min (이수민), Park Soo Min (박수민), Jeon Hee Jin (전희진), Nam Yu Jin (남유진), Choi Moon Hee (최문희), Kim So Ri (김소리), Jang Hyo Gyeong (장효경), and Lee Ha Young (이하영).
After the show's finale, many of the contestants returned to their original groups or debuted later:
- Kim Hyo Jin (boys' 2nd) and Kim Min Seok (boys' 7th) returned to ONF. Min Seok left the group on August 23, 2019. Kim Byeong Kwan (boys' 4th) and Lee Dong Hun (boys' 8th) returned to A.C.E. Jeon Hee Jin (girls' 4th) returned to LOONA.
- Kim So Ri (girls' 7th) debuted as a soloist on September 4, 2018.
- Park Soo Min (girls' 3rd) debuted in DreamNote on November 7, 2018.
- Shin Ryu Jin (girls' 1st) debuted in ITZY on February 12, 2019.
- Lee Ru Bin (boys' 3rd) debuted in 1TEAM on March 27, 2019, and was a member until their disbandment on March 10, 2021.
- Lee Byoung Gon (boys' 9th) debuted in CIX on July 23, 2019.
- Woo Jin Young (boys' 1st) debuted in D1CE on August 1, 2019. He then debuted as a soloist on June 9, 2021.
- Jang Hyo Gyeong (girls' 8th) debuted in ARIAZ on October 24, 2019.
- Choi Hyun Suk (boys' 5th) debuted in TREASURE on August 7, 2020.
- Song Han Gyeom (boys' 6th)'s group, Seven O'Clock, disbanded on March 2, 2021. Han Gyeom then redebuted in OMEGA X on June 30.
