Biography
The Maelasta duo was formed during the summer of 2003 after a chance meeting between Matthew McAllister, the duo’s guitarist, and violinist Feargus Hetherington.
Maelasta: an abstract, innocuous, yet implicit name, it is a partial anagram of a Hebridean place name and “Mae” is a component found in words referring to art such as “Maestoso” and “Maecenas”.
