Biography
"Matías Ávila" is made up of Luis, Javy, Carlos, Franco, Nahuel and Matías.
The project was born in the middle of the pandemic, during the year 2020, with the release of the album El Último Día", a work that would be the first approach of Matías (solo) towards genres such as bedroom pop and indie folk, proposing for the first time a nostalgic lyrical style, which would become characteristic in future releases.
At the end of the same year he releases Heterocromía, his second full-length album, in which he delves into a wide variety of styles, demonstrating a lyrical and compositional versatility that would make him much better known in the local scene (Chile).
Finally, in 2021 he released El Destino De Las Hormigas, a rabid Indie Rock album, where he delves into contingent political issues, with a depth that he had not presented before.
This last release is the one that has allowed him, along with his live band; composed by Franco, Carlos, Javy, Luis and Nahuel, to deliver outstanding live performances multiple times during 2021 and 2022; with an energetic and effusive performance.
Matías is currently working on the material that will make up his next album, of which he has shown several songs in his latest performances.
