Biography
Mehrdad Pakbaz (1973, Tehran)
Mehrdad began playing the guitar with Dariush Abolhassani and Henrik Eivazian in 1987 and attended music theory courses given by Mehran Rohani. He also studied the Persian musical repertoire under the supervision of the masters Hossein Alizadeh and Dariush Talaee.
Performing several concerts with the Iran-Austria Cultural Society Orchestra (conducted by the late Thomas Christian David) led him to Austria, where he completed his musical education at the Music and Performing Arts University of Vienna, supervised by Prof. Walter Wuerdinger. Mehrdad had the opportunity to attend master classes led by well known artists such as Arnoldo Moreo, Alvaro Pieri and Hopkinson Smith. Currently he is working on his Ph.D. at the University of Vienna.
He has given concerts in Austria, Iran, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
