Biography

"Members and Friends of the Unitarian Music Society" got together to record two sets of two CDs to the latest British Unitarian hymnbook, "Sing Your Faith", in 2009 and 2010 at Cross Street Chapel in Manchester, England.

The group as named consists of between fifteen and thirty-five singers with soprano, contralto, tenor and bass voices, with David Dawson, president of the Society, conducting the choir, and Alan Myerscough, organist and churchwarden of Cross Street, playing the organ or piano on the majority of the hymns. Myrna Michell, lay minister at St. Saviourgate Chapel in York, also takes a turn on the piano for these recordings.

The Unitarian Music Society was formalised in 1963, and its website and more information can be found here.
