Biography
Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson were both already legends of country music when they got together in 1983 to record their hit album "Pancho & Lefty". The title track, written and recorded by the equally legendary country-folk singer/songwriter Townes Van Zandt in 1972, was a number 1 hit single in both the US and Canadian Country Charts. They went on to record the album "Seashores of Old Mexico" in 1987 and "The Best of Gospel" in 1995.
Some of the best music ever recorded. Music that told a story that you could listen to. Their look and attitude was close to outlaws, but outlaws we applauded.
