Biography

Michael J. Joseph (born Michael Richard Joseph, 7th January 1974) is a British musician, singer and songwriter. A self-styled ‘Genre-Jumping Retromancer’, his variety of musical influences include, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, Creedence Clearwater Revival, INXS, David Bowie and Prince.

During the late 1990s, Michael was the vocalist and co-songwriter of electronic duo, Alien Intuition with musician and producer Ed Lewis. Their song, “Zeroman” from the 1997 EP, “Lying on a Lilo Loving Life in Liveseyland” saw them become something of a mini-cult in Japan.
After Alien Intuition split in 2001, Michael was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and quit music for a number of years. In 2006 Michael embarked upon a career as a Wedding Singer and DJ and became one of the UK’s premier entertainment providers. He eventually became disillusioned by performing other artist’s materials and decided to turn his attention to writing and recording his own material.

His 2013 debut solo album, “Stranger” saw a creatively rejuvenated Michael J. Joseph reunited with his former Alien Intuition partner, Ed Lewis who recorded and produced the album at the Giant Wafer studios in Mid-Wales.

Michael is currently working on material for a second album.
