Biography

Michael Waugh grew up as a fan of Patsy Cline and Tammy Wynette in rural Australia. Country and folk-inspired torch songs are Michael's thing. Michael's guitar and vocals are supported by violinst Emma Rodda and Drummer Fred Abery.

Michael has won numerous songwriting awards including the Song of Peace and Tolerance (Port Fairy Folk Festival) and the Rudy Brandsma Award for Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting (Australian Songwriters Association). Michael has performed at the Port Fairy Festival, the Apollo Bay Music Festival, The Clifton Hill Hotel and the beloved Barleycorn Hotel - with incredible musicians such as Terry Springford and Matthew Geraghty. Michael's CD 'Little Motor Mouth' (working as St Vitus with Robert Dorber, Ben Grundy and Roberta Bakotic and supported by Sandy Brady, Dave Steel and Tiffany Eckhardt) is available through Black Market Music.
