Thanks for the link! It was interesting to read. Left with the impression that he was struck by a narcissist. Haven't expected this, at all.

Btw, he wrote not bad music for "Beautiful Desolation" game. Not Doom-y or something like that, though sounds great.

Waiting for "Atomic Heart". I think it should be an awesome game with such an awesome composer, as Mick is.

Damn, most of Eternal sounds really badly mixed. Thanks to Bethesda once again. They pulled this before already. Wolfenstein The New Colossus has the same problem with heavily compressed MP3 128Kbit files being sold. Fallout 3 by Inon Zur too. They take absolutely no care for their IP soundtracks. I dont know if there are any more failed releases but they should be ashamed. It also seems like we wont get any public Eternal OST anymore, they probably ditched the plans after the scandal or maybe Mick Gordon doesnt want to release it, understandably so. Would love to have a "remastered" release by Mick but seeing as him and id/Bethesda split I guess absolutely nothing will be released anymore. The only thing we have are the badly mastered collectors edition tracks. Meh. Guess I will just stick to the original DOOM.

Yeah, I already know the news. Not surprising honestly and just a sad situation all around. Two years later and there is still no official OST and judging by Micks post there probably never will be.

Doom 2016 : Re-invents metal, synth music and game soundtracks at once. Doom Eternal : Hold my shotgun ...

The only thing they fear is you, super gore nest, usurper gore, kalibas, hell on earth, and that's just the stuff that rocks, there's a ton of amazing ambient music on it too. I love the Doom 2016 soundtrack, but this one just has a more depth to it. More metal, more electronics, more ambience, more drone, just more.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is another great, great job by Mick Gordon and guests, now time to Doom Eternal release.

Listened to this whole ost of Doom Eternal and left with the feeling, that the soundtrack is not perfect. Doom 2016 has a perfect soundtrack, like every sound is done the way it is supposed to be. And even tracklist there was perfect, polished I'd say. But Doom Eternal, though there are good tracks and atmosphere, though it is a bit weaker. And what's the saddest thing? Doom Eternal itself is a perfect game, though they've screwed soundtrack. I think even tracks, prior to official release were done in hurry. Once again it proves, that hurry-ness doesn't lead anywhere meaningful and good, but with mistakes. However, maybe I'm just tired after that long tracklist, who knows. I'd give a try, maybe, later.

Anyone can recommend me something like that track from the "Doom: Eternal" OST? Track, which playing on Phobos. That aggressive electronic track. I know, I ask for something unique, probably, and you may say "go find yourself". Though, if anyone could recommend something — I'd greatly appreciate it.

No mention of the Killer Instinct (2013) soundtrack? Excellent hard-hitting production.

Too bad they (bethesda/id or whatever) screwed up the mastering so bad, it's such an important aspect of Mick's music. Not to mention segments of the tracks that are plain absent on the OST and the overall lack of any cohesive structure. I bet Mick is pissed and wants to tear their guts out.

Don't know what's wrong with Bethesda, nowadays. Even while doing something good, they always manage to do something bad, as well.

It's hard to say, but OST for Doom 2016 was better, by almost all of possible criteria.

Soundtrack is really awesome. I liked running while listening to it. Had a feeling that I ran somewhere on Mars.

However, I listened to several tracks, like "The Only thing they fear is you", "Metal Hell" (especially this), "BFG 10k" and "The super gore nest". Now I wonder how it will be felt, if I take my bike and go cycling. How much ride will be aggressive? Just wondering.

Yeah, crappy. After playing both Dooms I even left with the feeling that Mick Gordon is Doom. Because the main thing that reminds me about Dooms is music. Like it's hard to distinguish now and even imagine how would Doom had sounded like otherwise. Like without him it wouldn't be the same Doom. At least, it would be hard to get the same awesomeness as it was in those 2 Dooms.

If you were to remove the heavy soundtrack from doom you'd probably get Doom 3. I don't know if you've played it but most people I've seen don't even consider it a proper doom game because of how different it is haha. It's got more of an ambient style as far as the music goes iirc.

Doom 3 is also a cool game, though more into horror genre. Though, I don't remember vividly the soundtrack from there. I remember some creepy vibes there, in the game.
