Mickael "Mick" Gordon Thomson, sometimes known as #7, is an American musician, best known as the lead guitarist for the band Slipknot.
Thomson joined Slipknot in 1996, replacing Craig Jones, who then became the band's sampler. Before Slipknot, Mick was in the band Bodypit with former Slipknot members Anders Colsefini, Donnie Steele and the late Paul Gray.
Originally, Mick donned a Jason-style hockey mask, painted a dark pea green type color. This can be seen on the cover of their self titled major label debut, "Slipknot." Shortly after, Mick wore a dark silver leather mask made of separate pieces bound with metal rivets, with a nose opening cutout and vertical slats for his mouth. For Vol. 3, he switched to a molded latex mask based on the previous design, with some updated features.
