Biography

Mickey Aversa, who now goes by Mike Aversa, currently lives in Orange County, CA. His music career spans a time line of over 50 years. During his early years in the 1960s, he wrote recorded the surf song "Blast Off" with his band, the Invaders. They also recorded and released other 45s during the mid 1960s. Mickey and the Invaders are featured in Bob Dalley's book, "Surfin Guitars".

In 1967, they won the "Best Band Award" at the Hollywood Teenage Fair. It was shortly after that they became the KRLA Roadshow band with DJ Dick Biondi. In the late 1960s, the band met Los Angeles disc jockey's, Charlie O'Donnell and Humble Harve. Charlie and Harvey became the bands record producers, changing the name of the band to Dyna-Might.

Dyna-Might was signed to a two year contract with UNI Records and released three singles; "You Got Me Groovin", "Borracho", and "Sunshine Goddess". Although all three singles got air play, none of them made the top 40. The latin jazz song Borracho, can now be found on a German CD compilation, Mojo Club 13, "If You Want My Love".

During the 1970s Dyna-Might continued to tour and perform at night clubs throughout Southern California, the Western United States and Canada. After over 15 years of performing together, in 1977, the original Dyna-Might dis-banded.

Dyna-Might members Mike (Mickey) Aversa and John Ortiz, along with Mike O'Brien and Don Hoover, established the Christian band, The Agape Brothers. They recorded on record album in 1978 called "The Agape Brothers"

During his 50 year career, Mickey Aversa played with such artists as Sonny and Cher, the Righteous Brothers, Darlene Love and the Blossoms, Dick Dale, The Ides of March, Freddie Cannon, Brenton Wood, Donnie Brooks, Wolfman Jack, April and Nino Tempo, Johnny Burnett, just to name a few!
