Biography
There are two bands called Miles Apart.
1) A melodic hardcore/emo band from the U.S.A.
2) An industrial techno collaboration between Pete Namlook and Peter Prochir.
1) Emotional Hardcore from Greenville, SC. Has released 2 EPs titled "Valueless" and "Transitions". Recording with Michael York of Pianos Become The Teeth in January of 2011.
2) An industrial techno/drum and bass release from the Fax +49-69/450464 label, featuring a magnate of ambient techno, ambient dub and Frankfurt-style trance in Pete Namlook (the labelhead; uses the pseudonyms Air, Namlook, Syn and Romantic Warrior for his solo work) and an industrial musician in Peter Prochir, the most prominent member and co-founder of Sielwolf (listed as the producer, drum programmer, sampler-player and vocalist in album liner notes). Namlook’s very name has connotations of chilled-out analogue synth waves in the vein of Edgar Froese’s variegated output, but Miles Apart deviates from such material focusing on dissonance and drums, drums, drums. Five out of the seven tracks are frantic chase-scene jungle, with melodic content being largely absent, while the other two are spare, minimal and claustrophobic foundry atmospherics.
Two years later (in 2000), the pair would convene again to produce the seminal Possible Gardens record.
