Biography

MinusMyThoughts are a touring-based band that hails from Montana's northwest. The band formed in 2003 when Jason Lengstorf and Brandon Boyce saw their first band fall apart and decided to push on. The original band was a four-piece until September of 2005, when the original bass player and drummer chose different paths in life. The drummer's throne was filled by Checkers Barker II, who came as a packaged deal with long-time bandmate and producer Max Allyn. Max came on to play third guitar and keys after he and Brandon wrote an album's worth of third guitar parts and piano interludes. Jordan Green, long-time family friend of Jason, came onboard to play bass last minute, learning all the songs in the week prior to MinusMyThoughts's first tour.

After recording their debut album, "Starring in the Role of Victim," in late 2005 with producer-turned-bandmate Max Allyn, MinusMyThoughts took to the road. After acquiring a van and trailer, the band set a heavy touring schedule, aimed at 200+ shows for the first year, with a goal of 250+ shows for subsequent years. The band saw great success right off the bat, making a profit off their first two tours. MinusMyThoughts caught the ear of many a club owner as well, and received an invite to play again from most clubs, helping the band establish a sensible tour schedule and useful contacts across the western United States.

With an average outing of 45-60 stops covering mostly the same cities every time, MinusMyThoughts have seen a great response from locals in every town. The band can boast a small-but-rabidly-supportive crowd in every city they play, and they see the numbers increase every show.

After developing a self-supporting tour regimen, a die-hard online fanbase, and a home-crowd that can be boasted in two cities (Missoula and Kalispell) to be six times larger than the average turnouts there, the band is now looking for sponsors and a label.

MinusMyThoughts plan to focus most of their energy on selling "Starring in the Role of Victim," but have plans to record a 2-5 song EP as early as winter of 2006. The band has been writing as much as possible during the weeks off between touring, and will be playing some of the new material on their upcoming tours.

Recently as of January 2007, the band has decided to part ways. Each member promises to keep pursuing music.
