Born in Adelaide Australia, the now Sydney based artist Mister Speed has continually evolved his style over the years. Starting with experimental trip hop he honed his melodies and samples to create smooth dark and moody beats mixed with razor sharp lyrics. His music is now more lively, with a definite pop sensibility coming into his solo work.
His collaboration with Dj Trip created a lo-fi electro hiphop group "The New Pollutants" and gave rise to the internationally acclaimed independent release "Hygene Atoms" and "Urban Professional Nightmares". Well known for their energetic and spontaneous live shows, the duo quickly gathered a strong fan base in the Australian Alternative, Electronic and Hip hop scenes. Composing a re-score of the 1926 silent film "Metropolis" by Fritz Lang, Mister Speed found new direction in film composition and moved to Sydney to pursue his passions in composing and performing music.
Following the dispanding of "The New Pollutants" in 2006 Mister Speed has been involved in various film projects composing scores for animated short films including "Sweet and Sour" and "Carnivore Reflux", two animations by The People's Republic of Animation, the later for which he recieved "best score" at the St Kilda 'top 100 shorts' film festival.
His debut solo release - The Dreamer was released in 2007 by Creative Vibes
