Monkey King is the name of more than one artist.
1) Chinese rock band
2) Philippe from Goa on voice/electronics and Will Glass from Dirty Projectors & The Octagons on drums.
1) Monkey King was formed in the summer of 2010 in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. The band first was biased in favor of melodical screamo, and that time was a chaotic time, the band members was changed many times, until the summer of 2011, when they got their stationary members. Vocals Chen Hui, Lead guitar Chen Xueqiang, Rhythm Guitar Yu Bin, Bass Su Yi, Drums Lv Jizou. After a short-time run in, they brought some harder riffs into their music, and so they turned into Melodic Hardcore.
Monkey King was influenced by both new bands and the old bands. such as The devil wears prada, A day to remember, Adept, H2O, Madball and Agnostic Front.
