Biography
There are multiple artists known under the name of Monotone.
1) Monotone is a name variation for Michael Burkat a.k.a. DJ Monotone, a German techno DJ and producer.

2) Monotone is a Belgian trance project, which was active in the period of 1998-2001. The project released several vinyl singles, but vanished into thin air after 2001.
3) Monotone is a Russian ambient project led by Serge G. It was started in 2006, and has recorded two full-length albums and an EP. Musically, Monotone ranges from traditional ambient with the use of synthetic piano to the darker subgenres of ambient including dark ambient and drone ambient.
Monotone's albums have never been physically released: all the works are put out in the internet for a free download.
