My Lucky Day is a band hailing from Kumamoto, Japan, formed in 2018.

Guitarist Momoka Asato developed an interest in playing the guitar during their second year of high school, drawing inspiration from bands like The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and their fusion of loud guitars with sweet pop melodies. Asato's passion for music led them to join the music club upon entering university, with the intention of forming a band.

Drummer Masahiko Fujisaki discovered his love for drums while in college. Prior to that, he enjoyed listening to bands like ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, BUMP OF CHICKEN, and Fujifabric, which he frequently covered during his university years. Fujisaki's decision to pursue drums was influenced by his mother, who used to play drums and suggested he choose either drums or piano. Fujisaki opted for drums.

Miku Taniguchi, responsible for vocals and guitar in My Lucky Day, joined forces with Asato and Fujisaki through their involvement in the Kumamoto University music club. Asato also assumes a leadership role within the band, providing guidance on arrangements and exhibiting a strong musical opinion.

My Lucky Day's first live performance took place in March 2018, marking the beginning of their official activities in June 2019. As a guitar-led band, they offer a captivating blend of shoegaze and dream pop styles.

Their album, "All Shimmer in a Day," was released on March 3, 2021, under the Testcard Records label. The album features contributions from Kensei Ogata and Jun Kawamoto of the local band talk (currently on hiatus) in recording, mixing, and mastering. "All Shimmer in a Day" showcases a sublime amalgamation of shoegaze and guitar pop, characterized by dazzling jungle-like guitars, enchanting and ephemeral melodies, and vocals that harmoniously intertwine. My Lucky Day's music encompasses elements of 90s shoegaze and guitar pop, exuding sophistication and ethereal sounds that are accompanied by delicate vocals.

In April 2021, bassist Momoka Nakamura departed from the band, prompting My Lucky Day to continue their musical journey as a trio.
