It's now at a point where it's passable and doesn't feel jarring, but you could basically cut it out and the song would be mostly the same. I would really love to see them do more creative things with this concept and find a middle ground between this and the more radical yet poorly executed ideas of O.O. Listen to a song like X by Poppy, I'd really love them to do something like that where they flip flop between two sections and give them a satisfying conclusion.

But I'm not going to act like I've heard every K-pop song that uses this concept either, so if you have an example of something that fits what I'm describing I'd love to hear it. I just have a lot of thoughts on NMIXX's concept and what I think they should do with it.

might be their best song honestly.. they sound extremely good, the harmonies are amazing, the change-up is not lazy & doesn't feel out of place. the perfect nmixx song

i get your point but i don't agree personally. i liked this change up specifically because it didn't feel as if they made two separate songs, cut them up and put together without trying to blend the different parts. "i got a boy" by snsd is my example of a perfect kpop change up & i don't feel like it's been done this well since, mostly because recent songs with "change ups" in them don't bother to actually mix parts together & usually don't introduce more than one new part in the middle of the song. however, i'd rather have a song which flows nicely because the "change up" is more integrated into it & feels like a more conventional bridge (dash), then for the song to feel like two entirely separate pieces, not connected by anything (o.o). igab would be the perfect middle-ground. you may describe both extremes as lazy, but one of them feels like slapping two existing songs together without much effort being put into justifing the change up & making it work

they just dropped the best k-pop performance video i’ve seen in years for this one. i honestly can’t think of anything better. they are the most talented group in k-pop and now they’re making the music and videos to match it. i don’t buy k-pop albums but i may have to make an exception just to show a little support for something the industry actually needs

I don't think the change up adds much but I do think the rest of the song is fun, and it's definitely the most natural sounding change up so far
