Biography

The NOF4 project begins in 2002, in the 3.000 years old city of Volterra, in Tuscany, when some guys decide to translate into music the darkest and magical atmospheres of the city itself. NOF4 was the nickname used by an old patient of the city sanitarium to sign his graffiti along the external walls of the Institute. These works are now considered as a work of art, so the name NOF4 has been chosen by the band because perfectly represents the thin line between madness and art. The first members of NOF4 (Thomas, Enrico S., Amerigo, David, Luca e Matteo) soon record a self-produced EP “Days of Sorrow”, but the maturity of the band arrives - after the replacement of the drummer Matteo with Guido - with the recording of the Demo EP “The Eternal Sleep” in 2004. This work has been very appreciated in the web reviews (Eutk, Metal-Zone, TrueMetal, Heavy Metal…) for the dark atmospheres and for the wonderful voice of Amerigo and has been often awarded as “Top Demo” or “Demo of the Month”. Anyway, after some good live exhibitions the band split in 2005. Only in late 2007 NOF4 start to work again with the actual line-up: Amerigo (vocals), Thomas (bass guitar), Guido (drums), Dario and Fabio (guitars), with the collaboration of Enrico G. (keyboards). The band is now recording a complete album of 12 songs that should be ready in 2009 and in November 2008 three songs from “The Eternal Sleep” will be included in the compilation “Dark Tower” edited by Nomadism Records. Wasaby Rock Magazine will also distribute, starting from October 2008, a live exhibition of the band.
