Eu sacrificaria duas bandas inteiras só pra ter esses caras de volta a ativa juntos e lançarem outro álbum absurdo igual o Quiet World

TheWatcho imo NC should be allowed at MA but I also think that they are too core-esque (which is good btw) to be considered metal per se. Aas for BTBAM's latest album - I disagree completely. They gravitate towards prog metal but the core influence is still strong with them.

v That's why Haken is accepted in Metal-Archives. Haken have a major influence off DT, in term off Jazz music.

@sanity_theorist Rush is on there because of the influence the band has on metal and specially Prog Metal. Latest BTBAM album was undeniably Prog Metal (and at least since Parallax pt.1, they've dropped most of their prominent "unacceptable" core influences) but MA still refuses to accept them based on the idea that their style in the new album "is akin to the style you'd expect from Scale the Summit; utilizing the leads, production, and aesthetics of Dream Theater's newer works, but without the metal riffs that really built that band. Essentially, metal aesthetics over a prog/alt rock base ... for us it really does come down to the riffs." I guess they think the same of Native Construct. Both are Prog Metal/Rock bands right now. Both have enough metal elements and riffing to be considered for the site. I don't really get how they can think otherwise, but oh well, opinions.

Interesting that they compared the newest Between the Buried and Me to Scale the Summit...just shows how much they'll stretch their own rules to fit past expectations, frankly. After hearing a slowed down version of Working Man recently, though, I can hear why Rush is on there nowadays. It almost sounded like doom metal!

Metallum has a lot of elitist mods that oversee the bands on there, but the similar artists tab for their bands is pretty awesome. Definitely remarkably harsh towards Between the Buried and Me though, no idea why. Fucking hell, Rush is on there! Lol

@DaruJericho Because Metal Archives admins hate anything that even remotely sounds like Between the Buried and Me and refuse to allow them on their site.

Quiet World is one of the best albums i've ever heard (2) Also, their sound seems to be incredibly influenced by Between the Buried and Me, but in a more operetic/musical-like way. Absolutely amazing, surely one of the best this year, this is a truly remarkable piece of Prog!

Potentially going to see these guys live next month. Anyone been to one of there shows that can shed light on how their live performance is in comparison to their flawless studio recording??

Oh, nice! Something between Diablo Swing Orchestras swinginess and BTBAMs weirdness and heaviness. After first listen I like it very much.
