First band in years I actually can't wait to hear a new record from. Dawn of the Damned sent pretty much every modern record on a fuckin streeeeeeeeetcher. It's 2020's but feels as if 90's never ended to those dudes. From killer demo to 35 year top notch discography, jesus christ

What's with people calling post-TNS albums (Darkside, Bloodhymns, etc) blackened death? It's obviously melodic black metal. They were influenced by The Somberlain. If you can't hear any melodic bm in Necrophobic's music from 1994 (where they began recording demos of Black Moon Rising, The Call, Darkside) to nowadays, then I don't know what to say.

Necrophobic fans should check out two recent Necrophobic offshoots. First of all, IN APHELION, a great new band by Necro-guitar player Sebastian Ramstedt, featuring Bergebäck as well. Their very strong debut album "Moribund" was released earlier in March 2022. Their sound is slightly more black metal orientated than Necrophobic. Secondly, UNHALLOW, a project by Joakim Sterner and Robert Sennebäck (Dismember). They have so far only released a 2-song demo called "Dæmonum". It's available for streaming on a.o. Spotify and YouTube. Doomy and melodic Death Metal, giving me some old Tiamat vibes (Sumerian Cry old) sometimes. Both bands come highly recommended!

Although I like to roam through metal-archives grim pages from time to time, their system is broken. Tribulation is in this fucking list

So far I like the new album slightly more than its predecessor, with which I wasn't too impressed. The lyrics however are pretty lame i.m.o., titles like "The Shadows" and "As the Fire Burns", "Darkness Be My Guide"... I mean, come on, 30 years ago that might have been cool, but in 2020... Musically it's all right, still nothing compared to some of their older stuff. 6,5 or 7 out of 10.

Their live show is one of the most cringy things I had already watched. It was not bad, but the cringe was over 9000.

I love this band. Shame there's a couple of albums I can't listen to because the recording quality is too terrible.

Mark of the Necrogram has turned out to be a disappointment i.m.o. The riffs and melodies just don't have 'it'. It doesn't stick, it's not bad, but it ain't got nothing on the previous two albums for example. I had good hopes for this, being written/recorded with the line-up that played on their finest albums, but sadly it doesn't live up.
