Biography
Newgrounds is a website created in 1995 that hosts Adobe Flash animations and games. It was created and is currently owned by Tom Fulp, who is assisted by his brother (Wade Fulp), and is also helped by liljim, an administrator living in England. Tim, Tom's former roommate, also assists in running the site. This site allows its users to submit their own Flash movies, games, and music, and view submissions from other users. In 2003, NG added the Newgrounds Audio Portal, which is host to almost 45,000 audio tracks, all available for download for free from the Audio Portal (newgrounds.com/audio). It hosts a wide array of genres of music, including Goth, Punk, Latin, Funk, Video Game, Trance, Techno, Jazz, Classical, New Wave, Bluegrass, Country, Ambient, Dance, DnB (Drum N Bass), House, Industrial, R&B, Hip Hop (Both Modern and Olskoo), Brit Pop, Ska, General Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Grunge, Indie, Pop, and Blues, as well as a section for Miscellaneous entries. Some of the more popular artists of the Newgrounds audio portal are RageVI, ParagonX9, -API-, B0UNC3, ZeRo_BaSs, Stamper, HouseMasta, Chronamut, Stage3-1, X-Digital, Dimrain47, GoreBastard, CptnJarrrrrydn, lessthan3, Naitzmic, and Khuskan, amongst others. The music that comes on when you enter the Audio Portal page is done by ParagonX9, the Portal's most popular Audio artist by a wide margin. It is also interactive, and one can change what song is playing, or turn it off completely.
