Biography
No Wings Fins Or Fuselage …
Early '96 James thought about little other than his music and being on CD, except that is for his one other real interest - UFO's.
Apart from money, which he didn't have much of, these were the only things that mattered to him. In fact, he was obsessed by them. So eventually he turned to the recording equipment that his record company had provided.
James believed that once he had made it onto a CD he would be a millionaire. Then he could afford to fly to distant worlds to meet loads of Extra Terrestrials. Frustrated teenage hopes, dreams, loves and male hormones drove James to switch on the studio equipment and start to record.
He worked fast and furiously. He wanted it to be instant. He wrote 30 songs in a few days. Then he solicited help from a few friends and together they did the drum tracks. James then played the guitars and sung over the top.
After this, they played a couple of impromptu gigs and called themselves No Wings, Fins or Fuselage. Now they have a set of material that literally flies from the stage and out of your speakers. It sounds a bit like the Pixies but even more tuneful.
OK, so the songs are about visitors from outer space and not fresh new love that is traditional rock fodder. Nevertheless, the source of the inspiration is the same youthful energy that has produced all the greatest ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ since the beginning of time. They are a very, very hard act to follow.
