The musical compositions can be described as a combination of heavy guitar riffs, epic melodies, and symphonic keyboard entries, with a battle-like atmosphere and an assortment of folk-oriented instruments. The debut EP, "Winter's Dominion," features 6 tracks utilizing this folk metal inspired combination. The EP got very positive reviews, and opened up new opportunities for Northsong. They immediately began work on a second release - a full length album, entitled "The Final Journey." It was released on April 9th, 2013, and is currently available through the band's BandCamp page.
