Biography
Oberu is a chillwave project created by Lucas James, a British Columbian producer. Lucas James started music production when he was inspired by Yun Head, a Filipino rapper and producer but "didn't try actually producing good music until around late 2020 - early 2021." At around late of 2021, Lucas James started producing for a well known sandbox game called "Brick Hill", creating exclusive remixes and tracks for their livestreams and uploading them on his YouTube channel.
In July of 2023, Lucas James first took on the artist name "Oberu", producing the first 3 tracks under the alias: I'm Home, Behold, and This Old Cat. Lucas James didn't release anything under the alias until August 10, 2023 when he first released his debut album " Behold."
