Biography
ONIKHO is an Oakland-based jazz and
electronic artist and producer who began
writing her debut EP after becoming paralyzed
in a car accident in 2014. Originally a classically
trained pianist, ONIKHO melds her influences of
blues, jazz, and electronic soundscapes to create
what she describes as "electro-cinematic soul".
Each of the four songs on her self-titled EP are
inspired by her experiences from the moment
she woke up in crushed car unable to move her
legs through her process of redefining her
identity and facing a future in a wheelchair. As
she emerges from the Oakland music scene she
aims to make music that can both soothe your
soul and make you dance. You can find all her
videos, music, and blog at:
