Yes, it's also a girl's name and a band from New Zealand. The band OdESSA from Wellington, New Zealand, got their name from a girl they know called Odessa. In the liner notes of their CD 'Oak Park Avenue' it has a thank you that is to Odessa and Zane for sharing the name
