Biography
Ok Deadman formed in 2008 after years of collaboration between singer/songwriter Jacob Cordingley and guitarist Benjamin Hunter. They recruited Ed Kibblewhite on bass and after a series of drummers discovered Tim Norman whom Ben had met at a party. In the summer of 2010 they added Michael Ward, as an additional guitarist, violinist and synth player.
Ok Deadman write songs that tell stories. Themes of loss, fear, love, and the complexities of human relationships often permeate these stories. Main songwriter Jacob has pointed out that these songs often come from a very personal place: "I find very often that it is only possible to create something beautiful out of the darkest moments in life." he says, "it's not that I want to be depressing, it's just that happiness is so rarely life affirming. It is those darkest moments that mean the most, that teach us the most. In a way, I don't find our music depressing, I find it meaningful."
