Biography
A four piece alternative metal/ hard rock group
hailing from the central Indiana town Gas City. With
only 6,000 people and a high school that furnished
only 600, the members of Onset seemed to meet out of
pre-destined opportunity.
Kris Cundiff(vocals), Josh Richardson(bass), Eric
Hewitt(guitar), and Luke Teague(drums) were assembled
under the title of Splitshift for over a years time.
Releasing a 5 song ep in 2001 the band gained
exposure in the scene surrounding Indiana. After the
release of the first album and numerous shows to
support the disc, the group wrote new and more
musically attractive sounds. As the band progressed
and prepared for the studio, issues arose with the
use of the name the band was currently using. After
stressful searching and decision making, the quartet
became Onset.
The music pushes the boundaries of typical modern
musical genres. Musically invigorating and thought
provoking, Onset is developing a sound that is not to
be ignored. Fronted with a sometimes soothing and
sometimes impetuous vocalist, Onset brings a feeling
to the live performance that is dynamic and
compelling for the fans.
Onset's second album ôState of Mindö offers listeners
a high energy sonic experience while exploring
matters of self-discovery, love, death, and the
sometimes problematic behavior of other human beings.
