Uma das músicas mais lindas já feitas. Me emociona toda vez e isso faz mais de uma década.

I like that this is without keyboards. Not saying they ruined the Opeth sound but the acoustic guitar and the harmonies really wouldn’t have come through if there was an organ or mellotron like later on.

Back in high school my friend insisted I check out "this rad band called Opeth". She downloaded some random songs from limewire and randomly selected this track to play, before she flipped to Pantera because "this is kind of boring". I was completely sold on this beautiful song though; she could keep "Cowboys from Hell".

This is just one of those songs that no matter how many times I hear I'm amazed by it's beauty

Same here mate. People like to strawman us and say we hate "Newpeth" because there's no growls, but songs like this show how idiotic that argument is. This is unique and beautiful music, whereas Newpeth is a calculated emulation of classic prog tropes. Songs like Bleak, Windowpane, and Hours of Wealth blow anything from Newpeth out of the fucking water.

Mikael quote: "When I came out of the recording room, everyone was laughing. I said, why are you laughing? Then Steven Wilson said “those lyrics sounded like 'Born of cement, but it's me who's tomato'"". This killed me.

If you listen to blackwater park while looking in a mirror you hear a brutal version of harvest and an angelic version of the title track, then akerstash comes out of the mirror and gives you a bunch of flowers, they all have dead bees in them though, mirrors don't fuck around. [3]

After listening to the live version on Sorceress I had to heal my ears with the original version, instant relief, I recommend it.

"Why does this remind me of Pink Floyd a little?" Because you're a fucking wanker.

Sounds identical to Novembre - Nursery Rhyme, which was released 1996. Coincidence? Perhaps, Opeth had quite a few songs really similar to others. Another example is Rapture - Two Dead Names (released 2002) Song: Opeth - In My Time of Need (2003). http://www.last.fm/music/Novembre/Arte+Novecento/Nursery+Rhyme

I feel bad for people who cannot appreciate more than one musical genre... They're living a boring life.
