People at my school think it's funny to make fun of me and my friends for being emo, they find screaming Last Resort and Fall For You (different band if you didn't know) hilarious, it's not even funny, for one they get the lyrics wrong and for two why is that even funny? How do they know of those songs? Sorry just needed to vent my frustrations, I just find it so fucking dumb that they legit find it hilarious to do this at least once a week, what are you guys thoughts on this?

Papa Roach have this song called "Not Listening" that's pretty much a 1:1 solution to your problem. They only do that because you care and react. Stop paying attention and they won't be amused or entertained anymore. Also, talk to an adult about these problems because they're not uniquely yours, we had them too once and we had to solve them too.

Been listening to them since I was a kid. Was obsessed with them in middle school. I used to take my music SUPER seriously and not take any criticism or jokes well at all. Now I think it's funny as well to shit on nu-metal and other music I loved (and still love). I think it's best to be lighthearted about that stuff, honestly makes the music more enjoyable that way too imo

Don't let it get to your head, I know it's easier said than done, but don't think about it twice. Stay true to yourself, listen to whatever you like and dress whatever you feel like. Avoid these assholes as much as you can and ignore them if they try to bully you. Most importantly, look out for the friends that care about you and keep close to them. Also on a different note, I wouldn't go around sharing something so vulnerable on last.fm. There are tons of toxic people on here, you're lucky everyone was so nice under this post.
