Biography
Pat Mason is a Louisiana musician noted for his mult-talent. He sings, plays many instruments including guitars, mandolins, accordions, blues harmonica, and keyboards. He also writes and arranges his own music. He has two CD's out, 'Bayou Boogie' (1991) and 'Big Red,' (2008). He is currently the front man and accordion player for the Shreveport, La. Cajun/Zydeco group 'The Red River Playboys.' He is often used in studio work as a result of his many talents.
Mason has been called 'the most under-rated guitar talent in Shreveport' by many local music officianados. Mason is very proficient on guitar and has been described as a cross between Eric Clapton and John Fogerty. His bluesy Cajun and Zydeco roots show through in his writing and performing styles.
He is also an accomplished Cajun and Zydeco accordion player using at least 4 different accordions in his performances.
