Biography
Paul Fogarty was born in a tiny hospital in the tiny town of Clifton on the Darling Downs, near Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. The phone number at his parents farm house was Two-Six.
He didn't have the modern luxury of either floor carpetting, wall paper, or an inside toilet until he was 13 years old. "By then, of course, it was too late…" he says.
Paul (that's me, over there) has written so many songs he doesn't know what to do with himself. When he'd written 500 songs he quit his journalism work and embarked on his new career in music as a full time singer songwriter. That was in 2001, and he's still going strong. He's released three albums (Breathe 2001, Stagefright 2003, Born Naked 2006), is a Sagittarius, and is into sport, literature and miniature aircraft. He works alone usually, is self-managed, has no label, no distributor, no agents…
In September 2008 he moved to live in Germany with his wife and young daughter. He has played support for Status Quo, Richard Clapton, The Waifs, James Blundell, Jo Camilleri, Karma County and many more.
In July 2009 he is booked to play the Showcase Stage at the prestigious Blue Balls Music Festival in Switzerland. In April 2009 he will headline at the Herzgruen Festival in Berlin.
Meantime, he has now written more than 1000 songs…1001….1002….
