The PeeWee Blues Gang (PeeWees) was a five-member group which played blues rock. In its newest appearance, it has become a six-member group which still plays blues rock.

Founded in 1977 in Iserlohn, the Peewees performed with mostly their own compositions. Its members were the lead singer and keyboardist Reiner Hänsch, guitarist Thomas Hesse, bassist Heribert Grothe, and Friedbert Falcon on drums.

Band history:
The band made its first appearance at the Balver cave at a Jazz Festival.

Singer and keyboard player for the first two years of the band was Reiner Hänsch. In 1979, Hänsch left the PeeWees and Richard Hagel became the singer. The keyboards were now played by Stefan Janke.

Two years after its founding, the first LP was released. The band became known far beyond the borders of Germany through participation in open air concerts abroad. There were tours with Chicken Shack, Canned Heat, Jack Bruce and the Stray Cats. In 1980, the band was allowed to perform in Poland. In the year after that, the PeeWees played on a Blues tour at the Rockpalast of WDR in Cologne.

Since the mid-1990s, the saxophone replaced the keyboards.

The group, having released 15 albums by this time , disbanded on December 31, 2008.

In 2010, the band celebrated a comeback with the release of their latest CD - "Back On The Road Again". Since then the band has played with a different lineup at several festivals. The keyboards are once again being played after an absence of many years.
