Biography
Pencil In are a four piece alternative rock band hailing from the Northwest of England. Coupling the incredible vocal clarity of Bill Orrick with layered, effect soaked, post rock soundscapes and waves of torrential heaviness, theirs is a truly unique sound.
Born out of college jams between singer/songwriter Bill Orrick and creative guitarist Tony Arnott and taking in such wide stretching influences as Radiohead, Tool, Tori Amos, Mogwai, Mew and Jeff Buckley, Pencil In then joined up with the skill, precision and passionate fury of both bass player Len Soloshchenko and drummer Dave "Perki" Perkins. They became increasingly inspired by strange compositional approaches as the band continued to develop their sound.
Pencil In began gigging in the developing Preston music scene in 2008 and are currently preparing and rehearsing for the release of their new EP and a Spring 2010 tour.
