I will continue to be amazed and impressed by this band for years to come. There is so much in their material to unpack and figure out that it's astounding. It is like every inch of the band screams "virtuoso" and "synthesis".

I'm not sure about Aathma. It's by no means a bad record, and while it has its moments, I believe it fails to come anywhere close to Spiritual Migration's excellency. There are no points on the record which really surprise me like Spiritual did, and Paul Masvidal's spoken, robot sounding vocals on the intro track and Living Waves sound laughably stupid to my ears. I wouldn't say that I'm disappointed by this album, but neither am I impressed by it. I'll turn to it occasionally, but if I really feel like listening to Persefone my go-to records will remain Spiritual Migration and Shin-Ken.

I have it on CD now, and it's easily the best production job they've gotten so far. I love how they improve a little bit every album, it's everything I was hoping it would be!

I find it strange how Jens Bogren is a phenomenal mixer, but always fucks up in the mastering stages. I'll have to find a FLAC download of the album to give it a good test listen, Persefone deserves some full dynamic range releases...at least the production issues are becoming fewer as time goes on. Aathma's performances are top notch as always, if only the mp3 stream didn't make the aggressive parts so rough...

The 20 min track at the end split in 4 parts is a masterpiece. The dynamics create an atmospheric flow I haven't heard for quite a while in prog longtracks. Getting nostalgic Final Fantasy vibes from "...Many of One".
