Who are you?
My name is Philizz, 25 years old student, currently residing in Amsterdam.
What do you study?
I’m studying to become an Audiovisual Designer. With this study I can become either a director, animator, editor or something else, perhaps in the TV or film industry.
When did you start producing?
My first yearmix was produced in 2002, and made my first mix containing video images in 2008. In 2009 I started creating mashups, and eventually in 2011 I teamed up with the MM-2 project. I started producing long videomixes on a regular basis in January 2011.
What software do you use?
Currently I am using the Adobe CS 5.5 master collection. I use Audition for the audio mixing, and edit my footage with Adobe Premiere and After Effects. For the cover artwork I use Paint Shop Pro.
Why do you make these mixes?
I have always been a huge fan of the TMF Yearmixes. They have always made the most awesome videomixes, until they were taken over by MTV in 2002. From that point on, I decided to create my own mixes.
Do you have any other activities besides mixing videos?
I do voice overs for movies and documentaries. My theatrical background probably contributes to this. And of course my studies take up a lot of time.
Do you also voice over your own mixes?
Not yet, the voice of 2009 is done by a friend of mine, who is also a famous radio DJ ““Moradzo”:http://www.djguide.nl/djinfo.p?djid=4171”. The yearmix of 2010 was voiced by my classmates.
Can I download one of your mixes?
Yes you can. Every new mix comes with download options, in which you can choose from either torrents, usenet or rapidshare. I offer DVD’s, HD MP4 and MP3’s.
Do you earn money with your work?
No, but mixing & editing is my passion. I don’t pay original artists for using their videos, nor ask them for their permission. But when I ask them about it, they are mostly enthusiastic, since it’s basically free promotion. Therefore I don’t think I should ask money.

Warum machst du diese Mixe?
Ich bin immer ein großer Fan der TMF Yearmixes gewesen. Sie haben immer die astreinsten Videomixe gemacht, bis zur Ũbernahme von MTV im Jahr 2002. Von diesem Zeitpunkt an entschied ich, meine eigenen Mixe herzustellen.
Hast du andere Beschäftigungen neben dem Mischen von Videos?
Ich mache Voice-overs für Filme und Dokumentationen. Mein theatralischer Hintergrund spielt dabei wahrscheinlich eine gewisse Rolle. Und natürlich benötige ich für mein Studium viel Zeit.
Legst du auch Voice-overs über deine eigene Mixe?
Noch nicht, die Stimme von 2009 hat ein Freund von mir gemacht, der bekannte Radio DJ "Moradzo": “Http://www.djguide.nl/djinfo.p?djid=4171";. Der Yearmix von 2010 wurde von meinen Klassenkameraden eingesprochen.
