Biography
Plague Thy Child was formed originally under many different names in the late 90's by founding members Zane Stokes, Jonathan Mills, and John Almond. In 2000, vocalists Ben Lisk and Chris Cain were added, along with guitarist Jason Stonestreet. The band would record countless demos, getting more brutal and darker with each. One of which, a 3 song demo featuring Autumn, As Winter Sets In, and Diary of a Prophet, got great recognition in the underground. Plague thy Child played several shows all along the east coast and were known for their relentless and brutal stage prescence, which would often include members smeared in corpse paint, fire breathing, and blood drinking/spewing theatrics. In the fall of 2001 the band were signed to the Indie label Set in Stone Records, based out of Alabama. A promo was released featuring a demo recording of "Autumn." Following the promo the band went into the studio to record their self titled debut CD. However, due to unfortunate and uncontrollable situations, the band broke up before the CD would be released. Since then, members Zane Stokes and Jonathan Mills have written countless songs but have refused to record any, believing that the integrity of their music cannot be fully captured by recording, but only in a live setting. Hail real metal and death to all of those that are false!
