“Cancún” is an unreleased track recorded for Playboi Carti’s album Whole Lotta Red.
Although the video was a collaboration between AWGE affiliates Chris Skylark and Kelvin Krash, “Cancún” was first previewed on July 2, 2018 in an Instagram post made by Hidji. In the clip, Carti is seen walking around a parking garage in London dancing to the song. The snippet garnered over hundreds of thousands of plays across the Internet. It spawned a very popular meme based around the end of the video, where Carti rubs his stomach with British pounds and repeatedly says “My stummy hurt.”
The second verse of “Cancún” was recorded on September 2, 2018. The song was leaked on September 3, 2019.
