Whole Lotta Red (V2) was supposed to be Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti´s second studio album.
On October 2019 after the mess of Whole Lotta Red (V1) Carti returned to the drawing board and worked closely with Richie Souf and decides to change his sound. From April-May 2020 Carti tweets about and drops the single "@ MEH", and became featured on Drake's single "Pain 1993". However by July 2020, the passing of Carti’s associate Bigg Sosa, in combination with public disapproval of his then-recently released single, prompted Carti to scrap the sound characterised by “baby voice” vocals and production from Richie Souf and Pi’erre Bourne, and start working on a new version of Whole Lotta Red, with raspier vocals and a more aggressive sound.
