Playmates on the Run started in 2003, when pits (aka ESB) met gàli, an english writer and singer
Pits at the time, has been involved for 3 years in organising and playing for big tekno parties in squatted military barracks in south france called Les Diables Bleus.
They soon started doing some trip hop songs, and it was obvious there was a huge contrast beetwen Gàli and Pits!
The first one is very fragile, into dark pop bands as granddaddy, sparklehorse, radiohead, and electro pop as Le tigre, Peaches…
She's studying litterature and wants to be a writer.She already got few novels published.
The second, Pits, more into breakcore, d n b, indus and punk music… has been playing music since the age of 10, mainly guitare and bass.
In 1990 he moved to London, where he will stay until 2001. He discovered the spirale tribe, squat parties, hardcore and jungle music.; And lots of undefined bands, mixing tekno, hardcore and punk music (Sheep on drugs, Prodigy…) and later Squarepusher, aphew twin and some new indus bands as Punish Yourself. that's when he totally turned his music towards electro.
Soon Playmates on the Run music started to sounds more and more drum n bass and kitch electropunk, in a very dark way.
In 3 years they did over 50 concerts and festival appearance in the south east of France.
A first 8 tracks cd was made, in 2003, some Playmates tracks, some ESB, called Freedom for Beats, this CD is distributed by 3lowershop in San Fransisco.
In 2004, a video clip called Farewell, is released on the Ethnopaire compilation, (with Beruriers noirs) on the Folklore de la Zone Mondiale label.
After 18 months of work they finished their first Playmates on the Run album, with 14 tracks.
Beginning 2006 there is a new 4 tracks single called Point Blanc Come Back..
They have been working on a second album for more than an year and is expected to be finished one day !!!
